The basis of this painting by William Howley was to experiment with a new method of painting. In this painting I used a palette knife to apply my paint very thick, in a formulaic manner. At first glance the colors seem very similar but up close there are actually quite all unique from one another, giving the viewer a wide spectrum of yellows, greens, blues and everything in between.
